Who We Are

Small by design.

Radiant Living Family Care is a licensed adult family home in southeast Olympia, home to as many as six residents. It is family-operated and family-run — the people who own the home are the people you meet at the door.

An adult family home is a residence, not an institution. Six people share one household, one kitchen, and a caregiver who knows each of them. That scale is the point: it is what lets care stay attentive and personal.

Honest Fit

Who this home is right for.

We are not the right home for everyone, and we would rather say so early. A small household serves some people beautifully and others less well. Here is how to tell.

A good fit

· Someone who does better in a small, quiet household than a large building
· A person living with dementia or memory loss who needs routine and close attention
· A person managing a mental health condition who needs stability and calm
· Someone needing help with daily activities, mobility, or medications
· A family who values a high caregiver-to-resident ratio and familiar faces
· A private-pay resident who may later move to Medicaid and wants to stay put

Perhaps not the right fit

· Someone who wants the amenities and busy social calendar of a large community
· A person who is most comfortable with many neighbors and activities each day
· Care needs that require skilled-nursing or hospital-level medical support
· A situation where a much larger staff or specialized equipment is essential

If we are not the right home, we will tell you honestly and help you think about what is.

Why We Opened Radiant Living

A home we would trust for our own.

We opened Radiant Living because we believe older people deserve to be known. In a large building, a person can become a room number and a schedule. Here, six residents share one household, one table, and caregivers who learn their names, their habits, and what makes an ordinary day a good one.

That belief shapes every choice we make: keeping the household small on purpose, holding the state designations for the memory and mental-health care so many families struggle to find, and keeping our Medicaid contract so no one has to leave when their savings run low. We look after each resident the way we would want our own parent looked after.

Licensing & Standards

Licensed, designated, and contracted.

Radiant Living is licensed by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services under WAC 388-76, the rules that govern adult family homes in the state.

The home carries state specialty designations for mental health and dementia care, and holds a DSHS Medicaid contract — so residents who begin as private pay and later qualify for Medicaid can remain in place.
